Advanced scan optimization

The geometry scan inspection only appears in the Dome/Curvescreen preset. This preset also works for other surfaces.

After the scan the result is shown. You can adjust the various parameters to optimize it.

If you can’t get it right, please go back and adjust scan parameters. Sometimes it is even necessary, to go all the way back to the camera settings.

Detection of possibly invalid points:

Here you can choose how tight the algorithm is acting.

Extrapolation method:

Full Polynominal means that every dot should follow a constant line.
That’s takes place in Domes, curved Screens, Flat surfaces

Partial Polynominal means that the surface can be made out of different angles and surfaces, non linear

Extrapolation distance:

The software is able to extrapolate regions of the Screen, that the camera was not able to detect. The more dots are chosen, the more the software tries to extrapolate.
If you choose “whole Display”, the software will try to extrapolate the whole output.
In case that you have a bad measurement, the extrapolation will cause weird results, like swirls and deformed areas.

The region of interest is an important aspect. If a projector is covering only a part of a Screen, there is no need to extrapolate more than you need to cover this region of interest.

Surface curvature:

If your surface is in an extraordinary curve, you can get better results from checking this option.

Intense overshooting of projector:

Optimisation of setups with an intense overshooting of the projectors

Optimization of Mesh:

Is a preconfigured optimisation that helps usually to get good results, in special cases its helpful to uncheck this option

For Experts in our Software, there are some parameters in addition.
