VIOSO applications have two ways of being licensed:
- USB dongle licenses
The license is stored on a USB device. As long as the USB device is plugged in, VIOSO application can access the license container and are fully functional. Transferring licenses is therefore easily done by removing the dongle and plugging it into a different PC. Dongles do not need any activation or preparation–they run right from the spot.
- Software licenses
A software license is represented by a code of numbers and characters. By applying the code, a special file is created on the PC, which is encrypted and valid only on this very PC. This is called “pc-locked” license and requires a one-time activation procedure of this serial number. This procedure is explained in this article.
Where to find the serial number?
The serial number usually comes on a PDF or printout called “Serial Keycard”. The serial number is also printed on documents like invoices, packing slips, order confirmation forms, etc. Please watch out for the serial number as soon as you have made a purchase.
Applying a Serial Number
Whenever an application is not licensed, it comes up with a license dialog. This dialog either displays information about an active demo period (so you can continue and evaluate the application) or states that a demo period has expired and that entering a license key is required to continue. In both situations, you can start the “access the activation” procedure.
Once you have opted to start the activation, simply follow the instructions of the activation assistant:
Please only use “Online Activation”. The other activation methods are for problematic cases and should be invoked after contacting our support.
After the activation is finished, the application runs without restrictions and these license dialogs do not appear again. Your application is fully licensed now.
