The most important requirement for VIOSO Anyblend is the graphic card on your PC.

Anyblend uses the calibrations made by VIOSO Core and embeds this data directly onto the displaying system. We call this feature hooking.

The preferred hooking method:

Hardware-based hooking:   On this level, the warping and blending data is imported directly into the graphics processing unit (GPU). This hooking mode requires you to use a professional series of graphics cards. Currently supported are NVIDIA Quadro (P-series and better) and AMD FirePro GPUs.

There are other hooking methods. However, we recommend to go with hardware-based hooking whenever possible. To know more about other calibration hooking methods, please refer to the GPU Knowledge base section.

Our recommendation in a nutshell:

  1. Use NVIDIA Quadro based system whenever possible. This results in the greatest flexibility in number of projectors and supports all use cases. All current Quadro GPUs (from P series) have the capability to run warp & blend.
  2. AMD FirePro GPUs also support warp & blend on hardware-level. However, current AMD Radeon Pro GPUs have not a clear path for supporting this at the moment, but that might change in the future.
  3. If NVIDIA Quadro or AMD FirePro is not an option, you need to stick with Windows 7 and double check if the designated Windows application runs without interfering Windows Aero.

This table shows the capabilities of different PC configurations that you might encounter:

**) Requires extra programming / extra cost

Please use the free demo version of VIOSO Anyblend and try it on your designated PC configuration. Also test it with the third-party application you want to use on the blended desktop.

For more information on this topic, please refer to the GPU Knowledge Base section.

Screen Split support

Some multi-head graphic cards allow the combination of distinct displays into one entire display, so that the Windows desktop is spanned over all outputs. The look and native behavior of all programs is adapted on the dimension of the entire display.
This feature is not supported by all graphic cards and is referred to differently by each manufacturer:

Manufacturer Product Creates an entire desktop
NVIDIA GeForce Supported as “Surround”
Quadro Supported as “Mosaic”
AMD Radeon
Supported as “Eyefinity display group”
Firepro
Matrox Dualhead2Go
Emulates a single “big” display
Triplehead2Go
Datapath X4 Emulates a single “big” display

This table shows the capabilities of the different PC configurations you may encounter:

graphics card series EDID Emulation
Display spanning recomm. model
VIOSO rating
Mosaic P series and above

With integrated EDID Emulation and desktop spanning across multiple GPUs, this GPU is the most versatile and will create the best VIOSO Player experience. Max. 16 outputs per PC supported.

Eyefinity W series only!

With integrated EDID Emulation and desktop spanning, this GPU will create a great VIOSO Player experience for up to 6 projectors per PC.

Eyefinity Radeon RX series

Offering display spanning for up to 6 projectors per PC, Radeon GPUs are versatile at comparable low costs.

Surround RTX series

No EDID emulation and limited features for display spanning makes this GPU our least recommended option.
